Liverpool have shown no appetite of letting go of their Premier League crown next season. The Reds claimed the title with style last year and have already invested heavily ahead of next term.

Liverpool’s first signing of the summer came in the form of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, who was followed to Anfield by former teammate Florian Wirtz. The Merseysiders have already announced a record deal for the latter.

Young goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has also arrived at the club. But the signings might not stop there.

Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez is on the verge of a move, while Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi is also right at the top of their shopping list. Amid the club’s big spending, there could also be some exits from Anfield.

A host of stars have already been linked with departures over the coming weeks. With that being said, take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours from Anfield.

Nunez ‘green lights’ exit

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has opened the door to a possible exit having given the go-ahead for talks with Napoli. The Uruguayan faces an uncertain future with the Reds having struggled for consistency.

As per reports, Serie A champions Napoli are among the clubs who could move for him. And he has approved a potential move having had the club’s project presented to him.

While Nunez is up for a move to Italy, there is still a significant stumbling block in the way: Liverpool’s demands. Napoli now have to find an agreement with the Reds, who are not keen on cashing in on the cheap.

Konate ‘disappointed’ at offer

Liverpool star Ibrahim Konate is reportedly ‘disappointed’ at Liverpool’s first attempts to keep him at the club. The Frenchman defender has just a year remaining on his contract at Anfield amid links with Real Madrid.

Liverpool are keen on retaining him but Konate is far from convinced by their new offer, with the structure of the proposal not getting his approval. It is suggested that Konate’s representatives are pushing for higher wages.

Liverpool have already been linked with signing a new defender this summer, with Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi at the top of their shortlist.

Frimpong gives Wirtz verdict

Jeremie Frimpong has hailed Liverpool’s signing of Florian Wirtz, having expressed his intent to win trophies alongside the German. On the deal, the Dutch defender said: “Now that it’s official, it’s the best feeling.

“When I first came to Leverkusen, Flo was the one that took me in. Now we’re doing it all over again – so it’s good. I’ve been in Leverkusen for four and a half years, and I won everything.

“I won the Pokal. I won the Super Cup. I won the Bundesliga. So I wanted a new challenge. With Celtic, I won the treble. With Leverkusen, the double. So in Liverpool, I also want to win trophies.”
