Manchester United ended up having a busy summer transfer window with both ins and outs at Old Trafford but it appears that boss Ruben Amorim still wanted more

Manchester United have had a rollercoaster start to the season. Following last year’s disappointment, fans were optimistic of better this campaign.

And with the £200m spend in the summer transfer market, things looked positive. But United got off to a poor start in the Premier League having lost to Arsenal, while they were then held by Fulham.

Things hit new lows as Amorim’s side were ousted from the Carabao Cup by League Two side Grimsby Town. United finally got their first win of the campaign last time out as they squeezed past newly-promoted Burnley at Old Trafford.

And while that has quietened the discontent at the club, it has not totally silenced it. For the time being though, United stars will be focusing on their international commitments.

With that being said, take a look at all of the news coming out of the red half of Manchester:

Amorim held Semenyo talks

Despite Man United’s huge outlay this summer, it appears that Ruben Amorim was not totally satisfied. The Portuguese was keen on signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth and even went as far as holding face-to-face talks with the forward.

Amorim is reported to have met Semenyo for dinner in London at the end of last season to judge the player’s character. CEO Omar Berrada and transfer chief Jason Wilcox also held conversations with Bournemouth.

But those efforts were in vain as Semenyo eventually penned a new contract with the Cherries.

Chelsea find Garnacho issue

Chelsea might have a problem when it comes to Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine completed a £40m move to Stamford Bridge from Man United in the final few days of the window.

But he might have some catching up to do. Garnacho did not have a pre-season with United ahead of his switch and is already feeling the effects in West London.

Speaking to a member of the Blues’ media team after his first training session, Garnacho said: “Can’t move my legs now man… I sprinted in the last one.”

Casemiro escapes red card

Man United midfielder Casemiro was lucky to escape a red card while on international duty with Brazil. The Selecao enjoyed a comprehensive 3-0 win against Chile in World Cup qualifying.

But it was a controversial evening for Casemiro as he was filmed standing on the leg of Felipe Loyola. The Chilean was left writhing in pain. The United star was shown a yellow card as punishment despite appearing to apologise.
