The international break is in full swing, but there is still plenty going on in the world of Arsenal, with transfer business continuing, despite the English window closing

Arsenal are not in action until Saturday, when they take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, but there is still a lot going on behind the scenes at the club during the international break.

The Gunners spent around £260million to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Piero Hincapie in the summer transfer window. The deals came to a halt on Monday’s deadline day, but there is still a possibility to do business for sporting director Andrea Berta.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta and his staff will be keeping one eye on the players who are away on international duty while planning ahead for the upcoming fixtures. Arsenal are third in the early-season Premier League table after their 1-0 loss against Liverpool spoilt their perfect start.

They will hope that their transfer business can make the difference between second place and an elusive first title since 2004. And with that in mind, here are the latest headlines from the world of Arsenal.

Gyokeres to give evidence

Gyokeres has agreed to give evidence as a witness in a defamation trial in Sweden next year, which could see him miss game time for Arsenal. The striker’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya has filed a lawsuit for gross defamation against two publications in Sweden and the lawyer in the case has confirmed that Gyokeres will take the stand, if required.

He is not accused of any crime but will give evidence as Cetinkaya tries to sue two outlets in the Stockholm District Court. Fotboll Sthlm and Expressen have accused Cetinkaya and his agency, HCM Sports Management, of having ties to criminal gangs, allegations the representative denies.

Mirror Football has contacted lawyer Joakim Lundqvist and HCM Sports Management to request further comment.

Trossard could still be sold

Arsenal moved on 12 first-team players in the summer transfer window and saw a flurry of activity on deadline day, with Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga among those to depart.

Leandro Trossard stayed put, despite lots of speculation to the contrary. However, an exit could still be on the cards, according to reports in Turkey, where the transfer window remains open until September 12. The Belgian signed improved terms with Arsenal this summer but remains a squad player, rather than a starter.

Arsenal are reportedly open to selling Trossard for the right price, despite now not being able to find a replacement and Besiktas are keen. They have already submitted an official offer, according to Sozcu, with Arsenal’s asking price set at £20m for the versatile Belgian attacker.

Kiwior opens up on ‘difficult’ exit

One of the players who did leave Arsenal at the end of the transfer window was Jakub Kiwior, who joined Porto on a season-long loan which will turn into a £22.5m permanent exit next summer.

His exit came after Arsenal agreed to sign Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, which was far from ideal from Kiwior’s point of view. “If I had known the exact day in advance, I would have had time to prepare. In the last three days there, I didn’t know which would truly be my last,” he said.

“Fabrizio Romano announced ‘here we go’, and I started receiving dozens of messages and calls congratulating me. I was starting training… The players saw it on their phones and asked me why I had put on my kit if it was already closed. I refused to say goodbye there because I still didn’t have information about what might or might not happen.”
