Top markets are China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and India; air freight throughput up 3.7%
[SINGAPORE] Changi Airport posted 17.3 million passenger movements in the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 3.1 per cent from the year-ago period.
Changi Airport Group said on Wednesday (Oct 22) that aircraft movements, including both take-offs and landings, stood at 91,600 – comparable to Q3 2024.
In Q3 2025, the top markets for passenger traffic were China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and India. China and Vietnam recorded the highest growth at 9.7 and 11.3 per cent, respectively.
The top five city links were with Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, Denpasar and Shanghai, with the Singapore-Jakarta corridor posting double-digit growth.
There were 531,000 tonnes of air freight throughput, a 3.7 per cent increase compared with the year-ago period. Imports increased by 10 per cent.
In air cargo, Changi’s top markets were China, the US, Australia, Hong Kong and India.

In airline operations, Indonesian carrier Pelita Air commenced operations at Changi Airport from Jakarta on Aug 11. It joined Changi’s network of some 100 airlines. It took over the check-in spaces of Jetstar Asia, which ceased operations on Jul 31.
Hainan Airlines launched four-times weekly Singapore-Haikou-Changchun services in September. Meanwhile, Loong Air began three-times weekly flights to Zhangjiajie in October, expanding Changi’s current network to 35 Chinese cities.
Batik Air Malaysia, part of the Lion Group, said it will be adding new daily flights to Ipoh, Penang and Subang from December. The group’s airlines will also move to Terminal 4 from Nov 11.
Scoot also announced new routes to four Indonesian cities – Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang and Semarang. The latter two are new links to Changi Airport.
On the cargo front, JD Airlines began thrice weekly scheduled Shenzhen freighter services, facilitating more options for shippers and freight forwarders between South-east Asia and China.
As at Oct 1, around 100 airlines operated more than 7,000 weekly scheduled flights at Changi Airport, with connections to more than 160 cities.
