Manchester United are finally blossoming under Ruben Amorim’s leadership and will look to make it four wins from five against Tottenham on Saturday

Manchester United are on their best run of form in recent times and are aiming to take three points from Tottenham on Saturday. The Red Devils will travel to London for the early kick-off at 12:30pm after a week’s training at Carrington.

Ruben Amorim’s side have been on an upward trajectory recently, with three wins and one draw in their last four games. The most notable victory came at Anfield against Liverpool, where Harry Maguire scored the winner to beat their rivals 2-1.

Currently, United sit eighth in the Premier League table and have the chance to go five points behind leaders Arsenal – and above the likes of Manchester City, Sunderland and Bournemouth – on Saturday before anybody else has kicked a ball.

A win over Spurs would also be the perfect revenge following their disappointing Europa League final loss to their Premier League rivals earlier in May. Here, Mirror Football has all the latest on the biggest headlines coming out of Old Trafford this week.

Glazers’ takeover stance

The Glazers, who are the majority stakeholders at United, could be convinced to sell their shares in the club if ‘the price is right’. The American business family has faced intense criticism from fans regarding the management of the Premier League side in recent times.

Earlier this season, speculation about a potential takeover from a new investor emerged but has since been squashed by United officials. However, The Times reports that if the money was what the Glazers deemed worthwhile, then they could be persuaded to sell their stake in the club.

The report reads: “I think for the right price, [the Glazers] definitely would [sell]. There is a clause within Ratcliffe’s agreement when he bought the club – I think it was triggered in August this year – that meant if the right offer came in – and I think that it was over something like $33 a share – that the Glazers could sell the whole club.

“Not just their portion of it, but Sir Ratcliffe will be bought out, as well, so there is potential that the Glazers could sell the entire club but, at the minute, it just seems like a strange one with this news, this hype and this excitement that’s been triggered by this one tweet.”

The Glazers last addressed their takeover stance publicly in April when youngest sibling Edward said: “I think that… We’re a family business, and it was really a decision we made collectively.

“Not every decision is six-nothing. But, ultimately, why we have been successful as a family business is that we’ve always kind of agreed that, if the majority of family members want to do something, we realise we are in a family business and we have to do it.

“One day it might be something that I’m in favour of. The next day, it may be something I’m not in favour. It was a family decision [the minority takeover].”

Sir David celebrates knighthood

Sir David Beckham celebrated receiving a knighthood from King Charles by dining at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Chelsea. The former United star was handed the accolade for his services to sport and charity earlier this week and was spotted enjoying a meal at the Michelin-starred eatery.

The Sun reports that Beckham was joined at the dinner table by wife Victoria and his family, which included sons Cruz and Romeo, daughter Harper and his parents, Ted and Sandra. Close friend and restaurant owner Ramsay was also in attendance alongside his wife Tana, as well as Beckham’s friend Dave Gardner and his wife Jessica Clarke.

The Beckhams’ oldest son, Brooklyn, wasn’t spotted at the celebratory dinner, as tensions continue within the family. The 26-year-old is yet to publicly congratulate his father on the honour, as Sir David shared his joy at receiving such an important accolade.

Speaking after the ceremony, the 50-year-old said: “I couldn’t be prouder. People know how patriotic I am – I love my country. I’ve always said how important the monarchy is to my family. I’m lucky enough to have travelled around the world and all people want to talk to me about is our monarchy. It makes me proud.”
