Both Joshua and boxing novice Paul got into the spirit of Christmas ahead of their eye-catching professional heavyweight showdown this Friday
Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will trade leather this Friday, but ahead of their money-spinning heavyweight showdown, the two stars took some time to engage in some Christmas festivities.
The pair will meet in a heavyweight dust-up on Friday in Miami, Florida. Their stunning clash will be contested over eight three-minute rounds, with both men set to wear 10oz gloves. Regardless of the outcome, the official end result will count on their respective professional records.
With their Miami melee scheduled to take place just six days before Christmas, popular streaming service Netflix, which will broadcast the fight, came up with a unique way to get the two fighters in the festive spirit. Instead of a fiery face-off, both men traded cards, reading each other’s words out loud.
Neither held back and were rather creative with their respective messages. “To Jake, from AJ. To the YouTuber-turned-Santa-Claus with a mohawk. You may call yourself a heavyweight boxer, but let’s be honest, you’re just heavy,” Paul began. “That’s good,” he chuckled. The young American continued: “You never held a title belt, nor will you ever, but I am happy to lend you one of mine to spank yourself with,” the boxing novice hit back with: “How did he know?”
Watch Jake vs Joshua live on Netflix for free

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will face off for a heavyweight clash in Miami on December 19. The fight will stream live on Netflix, which fans can get for free with Sky’s £15 Essential TV bundle, the brand’s ‘lowest ever price’ for Sky TV.
The 28-year-old added: “We all know how this will end, you back in your mansion, training for your next fight with somebody half your size or twice your age.” Then it was Joshua’s turn to see what was written in his card. “Let’s read what he has got to say. To a former champion and now a future loser.
“Seasons greetings or shall I say beating. I know you still may be disappointed and processing your last loss against (Daniel) Dubois, but don’t fret, I’ll make December 19 even more disappointing for you and your fans. See you soon, giant crumpet. Cheerio chap, Jake.” Joshua let out a huge laugh, adding: “Guy’s delulu. He’s crazy,” before opting to throw the card away.

With just days to go until the toughest challenge of his career, Paul has been brutally told to avoid the fight entirely by Joshua’s ex-rival Otto Wallin. “Don’t do the fight. I’m so surprised if this fight goes ahead,” he told Hajper. “And I feel like the weight limit is a little bit cringey because it’s a heavyweight fight. But still, Joshua should be way too good, way too strong and fast for Jake Paul and have too much experience.
“So I’m just so surprised that Jake is taking this fight. He goes from Tank Davis to Joshua, which is crazy. I don’t understand why he does it, but maybe he wants the respect saying that he fought Joshua, but it might end his career. Maybe, maybe he’s fed up with boxing.”
