Another weekend is here, which means it’s time to relax while watching some of this week’s newly released movies and series. Whether you are planning on spending some time in a theater or would simply like to stay home and regardless of the genre you are into, you won’t run out of options, for sure.

To give you ideas on the movies and series you may watch, here’s a list of new releases — both in theaters and on Netflix.

Kings of Jo’Burg

If you love watching underworld movies, then you should check out “Kings of Jo’Burg” Season 2, which is arriving on Netflix this weekend. It stars Shona Ferguson, Zolisa Xaluva, Cindy Mahlangu and Connie Ferguson. Missed its first season? Fret not, because you can easily binge-watch it in preparation for Season 2. It only has six episodes, after all.

Lockwood & Co.

Up for detective fiction with a hint of supernatural activities? If yes, go ahead and watch “Lockwood & Co.,” which tells the story of a girl (played by Ruby Stokes) who has psychic abilities. She decides to join two teenage boys in their ghost-hunting company that helps to stop spirits plaguing their city. The series is created by Joe Cornish, and it is available on Netflix.

The Snow Girl

If you are fond of watching mystery series, then “The Snow Girl” would be a perfect pick for you. The series shows a young journalist who is determined to help a family find their missing daughter. The show — which stars Milena Smit, José Coronado, Aixa Villagrán and Cecilia Freire — can be streamed on Netflix.

You People

Want to watch a light-hearted romantic comedy movie? Stream “You People,” which was helmed by director Kenya Barris and stars Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Lauren London and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. It revolves around a new couple and their families who are trying to understand their modern love amid cultural differences. The movie is on Netflix.

Infinity Pool

“Infinity Pool” is a horror sci-fi film about a couple on vacation who ends up exploring what’s beyond the resort grounds while being guided by a mysterious, seductive woman. Directed by Brandon Cronenberg, the movie stars Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth, Cleopatra Coleman and Thomas Kretschmann. The flick is now in theaters.

In case you missed it, here’s a list of movies that are coming out this year.
