KEY POINTS

  • The Hornets are hoping to add another win against the Heat on Sunday, Jan. 29
  • Butler, Adebayo expected to lead the Heat anew against an unpredictable Hornets quintet

The Miami Heat are on a roll and will look to continue their winning run when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Spectrum Center.

Both the Heat and the Hornets are coming off wins. Miami defeated the Orlando Magic, 110-105, while the Hornets downed the Chicago Bulls, 111-96.

Jimmy Butler starred for Miami in that win over the Magic, dropping 29 points and hauling down six rebounds. Bam Adebayo added 20 markers, seven assists and six rebounds.

“I don’t know if we just like dogfights,” Adebayo said. “I don’t know if we just like to make it interesting.”

The Heat are last in the league in team points scored with 108.5 points per contest. Miami owns an offensive rating of 110.8, 27th in the league.

On defense, Miami is giving up 108.1 points per game. They have a defensive rating of 110.7, fourth in the NBA.

The Hornets are looking for another win to string up a winning run. They tamed the Bulls thanks to the combined effort of Terry Rozier and Mason Plumlee.

Rozier led the Hornets with 28 points, five rebounds and four steals. Plumlee, on the other hand, contributed 21 markers and 12 caroms.

“… He’s taking the ball hard to the basket, and he feels good about his free throw shooting. To be able to do what he’s done (switching shooting hands), I’m not sure many people can do that. He was in here all summer doing it, so he’s got confidence,” Hornets coach Steve Clifford said about Plumlee.

Charlotte is norming 112 points per contest and is 25th in the league. They are last in the league in offensive rating with 108.9.

On defense, the Hornets are allowing the opposition 118.6 points per game and are 28th in the NBA. Their defensive rating is 115.6, 27th in the league.

The Heat are -6 favorites to come out on top against the Hornets who are at +6. The Moneyline for this game is -242 for Miami and +200 for Charlotte.

The Hornets try to snap the four-game winning streak of the Heat at the Spectrum Center with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m. E.T. The game can be watched via NBA League Pass with live streaming available via fuboTV.
