KEY POINTS

  • Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes reportedly received different severance packages from ABC
  • Robach reportedly got the better payout because she worked at the network longer and had a bigger contract
  • Robach and Holmes may have been paid slightly more that what they were owed in their contracts, reports claim

Amy Robach reportedly received a larger severance package than her co-anchor T.J. Holmes following the couple’s exit from the third hour of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

ABC News officially parted ways with Robach, 50, and Holmes, 45, late last month amid their alleged affair.

The two journalists both received a nice severance package from ABC upon their departure, Us Weekly reported.

The specific details of the settlement were not disclosed, but an unnamed insider told Us Weekly that Robach walked away with a “better” payout than Holmes due to her increased hosting responsibilities and longer employment history with the network. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

“She had been at ABC longer and had a bigger contract. She also had other hosting duties on ‘GMA3’ and ’20/20,'” the insider said. “They got paid what they would have been owed for the remainder of their contracts.”

The source added that Robach and Holmes both received “a little more” in addition to what was stipulated in their contract “to keep the peace, so to speak.”

Unnamed insiders also confirmed to Page Six that Robach got the better severance package between her and Holmes as she had “been at ABC a lot longer and has a much bigger contract” than her beau.

In addition to getting paid what they would have been owed for the remainder of their contracts, one unnamed source told the outlet that “it’s possible they could have gotten paid slightly more to sign an NDA — and to keep the peace.”

Robach had been with ABC News since 2012 and had co-anchored “GMA3” since 2020. Holmes joined ABC News in 2014, and also joined “GMA3” in 2020.

Robach and Holmes were taken off the air in December 2022, shortly after they were romantically linked despite both being married to other people at the time.

ABC conducted an internal investigation into their relationship before deciding to part ways with the pair in late January.

“After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News,” ABC said in a statement on Jan. 27, Us Weekly reported. “We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”

Robach and Holmes were photographed packing on the PDA in Los Angeles on the same day they both signed exit agreements with ABC, according to Page Six. She was seen straddling Holmes as she jumped into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist outside of a restaurant.

They are both reportedly in the process of divorcing their respective spouses.

Robach is reportedly finalizing her divorce from her estranged husband, “Melrose Place” star Andrew Shue. Holmes filed for divorce from his wife of 13 years, Marilee Fiebig, in December 2022.

After their workplace romance went viral, reports emerged that Holmes allegedly cheated on his wife with other co-workers at ABC over the years, including a producer, a junior staffer in her mid-20s as well as a low-level staffer who recently spoke out about the alleged affair in an interview with The Cut.

An unnamed source told Page Six that Holmes was “completely distraught” over how the reports have affected his reputation and portrayed him as a predator.
