Social media is a treasure trove of videos that offer some much-needed escape from busy work schedules. Several videos involve daring escapades and heartwarming human interest stories, especially those involving animals.
One video that surfaced last week has both–animals and a daring adventure–but instead of giving people a chuckle or two, it made their hearts pound.
The scary footage that’s been in circulation on social media since last week showed a small boat passing through a murky canal infested with scores of crocodiles, dispersing the beasts, who appeared to have been sunning.
The footage has amassed a whopping 7 million views till date.
The video might be disturbing to some viewers.
The nail-biting video left the viewers trying to wrap their heads around why someone would risk being at the beasts’ mercy by deciding to take a boat ride in the canal.
Going by what the video showed, if the boat toppled by any chance, it would only mean death for everyone on board.
The heart-stopping clip, which has been shared on Feb. 9 by a user named “Oddly Terrifying” on Twitter, has raked in over 148,000 likes to date.
Hundreds of users commented on the video with concern for those on the boat, while some made jokes at their expense.
“Run outta gas and dats yo azz…” one user said. “So… Ali MacGraw didn’t die of cancer as told by the movie, Love Story? Are you saying she was eaten by crocodiles instead? Valentines Day, humor?” said another.
“Omooo if this boat turns over, it’s going to be epic,” said a third.
“Jesus how much food is around for these things to populate like that! seems crowded!” one person said, while another reason if the clip belonged to Florida, home to a large number of Nile crocodiles owing to its sub-tropical climate.
“is this what Florida is like ?” read one comment. However, there was no clear indication if it indeed was shot in Florida.
“Terrifying is if the motor killed,” said a person. “That’s a River full of murder logs. Big nope for me,” wrote a second.
It wasn’t clear where or when the video was taken.
