The official X account of the State of Israel, run by the nation’s Foreign Ministry, has released a three-minute video to the social media platform, showing five females taken hostage by Hamas on the morning of the October 7 attacks.
The post on X identifies the five as Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Agam Berger, Daniela Gilboa and Naama Levy, noting that their families have approved of the release of the footage to raise awareness of their plight. They have been held hostage now for more than 230 days, or almost eight months.

A title indicates that the video was taken at Nahal Oz base, Oct. 7, 9 a.m. Nahal Oz is the name of both a kibbutz and a nearby military base in southern Israel, near the border with the Gaza Strip. Both were attacked on the morning of the Hamas incursions, with 12 people killed at the kibbutz and more than 60 at the military post.

The video shows scenes of chaos and women with bloodied faces being rounded up by the terrorists. “You dogs, we will step on you,” read the subtitles as they speak in Arabic. “Take, take pictures of them.”
The women respond in English, one of them saying she has a friend in Palestine, while another asks if there is someone who speaks English. The terrorists scream at them to be quiet, adding: “Our brothers died because of you, we will shoot you all.”
After the video cuts to a point later in the day, one of the terrorists then says: “Here are the girls (women who can get pregnant). There are the Zionists.” And: “You are so beautiful.” The video then cuts to the hostages being herded into vehicles, accompanied by what sounds like gunfire.
“Think of what that means for these young women,” the post says, adding: “Please share.”
