Hotel Properties Limited (HPL), the property and hotel developer owned by Singapore tycoon Ong Beng Seng, on Aug 1 officially opened the Four Seasons Hotel Osaka, marking its first hospitality asset in Japan.
The Four Seasons Hotel Osaka is also HPL’s 15th Four Seasons property, making HPL the largest owner of Four Seasons hotels in the world.
The new hotel is located inside the One Dojima building in Osaka’s popular Dojima neighbourhood, which is near the city’s business district.
The One Dojima project, which was completed in May, is an ultra-high-rise mixed-use building with 49 storeys.
The hotel is located on the 28th to 37th floors, and has 175 guest rooms and suites as well as additional luxuries such as a spa on the 36th floor, an indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness centre.
Besides the Four Seasons, One Dojima also houses the Brillia Tower Dojima apartment building.

The Four Seasons hotel in Osaka is the second HPL hotel property to open in 2024, and comes shortly after HPL in July launched The Boathouse Pulau Tioman near Johor in Malaysia.
HPL, which is listed on the mainboard of the Singapore Exchange, manages 11 other hotel properties in the Asia-Pacific, including those under Concorde Hotels & Resorts in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam, and under Hard Rock hotels in Penang, Bali and Pattaya.
It has also received provisional permission for the redevelopment of Forum The Shopping Mall, voco Orchard Singapore hotel and HPL House in Orchard Road into a mixed development comprising hotel, retail, office and residential components, and is working on detailed plans.
Ong, who is HPL’s managing director and co-founder and is involved in a corruption probe with former transport minister S Iswaran, owns a 60.47 per cent stake in the company.
Shares of HPL closed unchanged at S$3.55 on Aug 2. THE STRAITS TIMES
