Neil Warnock welcomed the news of a potential Oasis reunion in the most Neil Warnock way possible.

The warring musical brothers, Noel and Liam, have seemingly decided to bury a 15-year-old hatchet and commemorate the band’s 30th anniversary of their debut studio album, Definitely Maybe, by getting the band back together.

Oasis, led by Noel, could headline Glastonbury next year and play a host of massive shows in London and Manchester.

On Monday, Noel shared a short clip featuring an important date in the style of Oasis’ logo. Noel teased that a huge announcement is coming on Tuesday at 8am. Both Oasis and Liam Gallagher posted the same logo, heavily hinting that an Oasis reunion is on the cards.

While neither brother mentioned the other in their respective post, the spectre of a reunion feels imminent, inspiring plenty of excitement amongst fans of the band.

And coaching legend Warnock has now waded into the Oasis-reunion discourse by wishing the brothers the best of luck in quintessential Warnock argot.

Taking to X, the 75-year-old wrote: “Enjoy it lads , but enjoy it by being disciplined…”, tagging both brothers’ accounts.

The tweet was a reference to Warnock’s famous advice to the Sheffield United dressing room before facing Arsenal in the FA Cup fifth round in 2005. The match ended 1-1 with the Gunners’ Dennis Bergkamp sent off after half an hour.

Warnock has plenty of previous with the Gallagher brothers. In 2019, Noel aimed a cheeky dig at the then Cardiff City manager during a gig at Cardiff Castle with his High Flying Birds . The band played a wonderful rendition of The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love, and Gallagher dedicated the song to “the angriest man in Wales – Neil Warnock!”

Those in attendance were quick to take to social media following Gallagher’s far from subtle jibe.

The ribbing came shortly after Noel poked fun at Warnock’s Bluebirds on the same day the team won promotion to the Premier League, with the 51-year-old asking a crowd in the Welsh capital’s Motorpoint Arena, “How if your s***ty football team doing? Did something happen today? Did something significant happen today in the world of football?”

Liam, too, has been drawn within Warnock’s orbit previously. While with Cardiff, footage of Warnock staring down the cameraman with his hands behind his back on the touchline went viral, elevating Warnock’s already meme-able notoriety into legend status.

Fans suggested that Warnock resembled Liam Gallagher in the footage.

And when Warnock opened his own Twitter account two years ago, he responded to the comparisons by claiming he’d never heard of the Oasis frontman.

“I’ve seen this has been retweeted thousands of times,” he said. “Here’s what I was thinking at the time. So that was against Palace, the last game at Cardiff.

“Unfortunately, we got relegated. The cameraman put his camera right in my face so I thought ‘I’m not having that!’ So of course I went towards him. They accused me of being Liam Gallagher or somebody! But I’d never even seen it before. It was just Neil Warnock trying to show the cameraman what to do!”
