Police discovered roughly $50,000 in cash and drugs at a home in Ontario’s cottage country last week when they went there on an unrelated task.
In a post on X, Ontario Provincial Police said a man is now facing a total of nine charges, including three counts of failing to comply with a release order and possessing substances — such as opioids, heroin and methamphetamine — for the purpose of drug trafficking.

The charges were laid after the man was arrested on a warrant, police said over the weekend.
On the morning of Dec. 20, officers went to a home in Bancroft to get medication for a different person who was already in police custody, Muskoka 411 reported.
While on the property, officers encountered an individual who was wanted by police, CTV News reported. While he was being arrested, police allege that he had more than $2,000 in cash and a variety of drugs on him.
The man is accused of possessing more than 100 grams of suspected fentanyl, 11 grams of suspected cocaine, 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 16 grams of suspected heroin and 17 pills of suspected oxycodone, according to Muskoka 411.
A spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Police North East Region told the National Post there were no further details at this time.
