Police investigating the murder of a Canadian man who was visiting his Caribbean country of origin during the holidays are reportedly exploring the possibility of his jewellery being offered on Facebook marketplace hours after his death, according to local news outlet ANN.

It’s one of several new reported leads and developments in the investigation into the death of 38-year-old Glenroy Fraser on Saturday morning in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Police say Fraser, a sub-contractor from Montreal but originally hailing from Questelles in the tiny nation, was found in a rental SUV with his hands and feet bound and an injury to the head on Saturday morning.

A spent bullet casing was found nearby and the vehicle had been rolled down an embankment.

Detectives with the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force have since obtained and are reviewing footage from an entertainment venue in the capital city of Kingstown where they are confident Fraser was in the hours before his death, per local news outlet iWitness News.

Police are trying to determine how he left and whether he was accompanied by anyone else.

A woman has also reportedly been taken into custody and is assisting police, although her identity remains unknown, according to ANN.

Both outlets along with the St. Vincent Times indicate investigators are also reviewing a voice note that has surfaced on social media, during which a man and a woman are heard arguing. At one point, the woman refers to the man as “Glen.”

Meanwhile, the police force is also exploring reports that a gold chain resembling one worn by Fraser was spotted on “Vincy Buy and Sell” not long after his death was reported, per ANN.

The outlets report his killing as the country’s 54th murder of 2024.

The National Post has contacted the police in SVG.

Global Affairs Canada said it was aware of the death and consular officials are liaising with local authorities, but said no further information would be released to respect “privacy considerations.”

‘Life of the party’

Friends in both countries were shocked and saddened by Fraser’s death.

On Facebook, Aka-prince Rudiie called him the “sweetest soul, most kind hearted person yall could have around” and “LIFE OF THE PARTY.”

On Instagram, Hova the Businessman remembered Fraser as a supporter of his brand “who became a dear friend” in a post that included a video of Fraser dancing and singing along to Caribbean music at an undisclosed event.

“He would travel all the from Montreal, Canada, to wherever we hosted @brunchandsoca,” @hovathebusinessman wrote, listing off multiple cities where party-brunch events were held.

“He fell in love with the brand and was always the life of the party, radiating joy and energy wherever he went. Glen truly loved life and embraced every moment.”
