Serena Williams is serving up some support.
The 23-time Grand Slam singles winner—who was among the many stars that attended the Feb. 9 Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles—played some defense when it came to Taylor Swift’s less-than-positive reception by the NFL crowd.
During the game inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the jumbotron showcased a few celebrities in attendance, including Adam Sandler and Paul Rudd, who were met with applause. However, as Swift—who was at the game in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce—appeared onscreen alongside her friend and suitemate Ice Spice, audible booing erupted in the stadium, eliciting a surprised look and apparent laugh from the “Fortnight” singer.
And while she was quick to recover from the crowd’s lack of support, Swift wasn’t the only one with the mindset to shake it off.
“I love you @taylorswift13,” Williams (a noted Swiftie) wrote in a Feb. 9 post to X (formerly Twitter). “Dont listen to those booo!!”
