Live from New York it’s, well, none of these Saturday Night Live alum.
While 30 Rock’s Studio 8H was packed with just about everyone in the show’s illustrious history—Pete Davidson, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, John Mulaney, Bill Murray, Steve Martin and Kristen Wiig, just to name a few—for the sketch comedy’s 50th anniversary special Feb. 16, there were some notable names missing in action.
Take, for instance, Dan Aykroyd, who was an original cast member on the show, starring in seasons one through four from 1975 to 1979.
Though he was absent from the crowd, the 72-year-old did give a shout out to the celebration.
“Cracking a Head with pride at having been a co-founder of SNL along with everyone we were together with in those four years, five decades ago,” he wrote on X Feb. 14. “This telecast is as historical as the next moon landing. Comedy stars of our age all gathered under the aegis of America’s greatest living impresario, my boss Lorne Michaels. People it’s friggin’ Holy!!”
