Margot Robbie’s latest trip down the aisle has already led to a split.
While filming a scene for her upcoming romance adaptation Wuthering Heights—based on the 1847 novel by Emily Brontë—March 21 in Yorkshire, England, the actress donned a waist-cinching wedding dress with a ball gown silhouette and a colorful bouquet of flowers, completing the costume with a long veil that flowed dramatically in the wind.
But the over-the-top ensemble has polarized some fans of the classic literary work, who took issue with the creative liberties taken by the film’s wardrobe department.
“The cut is modern,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), adding, “It’s a dedicated wedding dress instead of a finery dress to be worn again.”
Another bookworm also took issue with the 34-year-old—who recently welcomed her first baby with husband Tom Ackerley—taking on the role of Catherine, who is a teenager in the novel.
