Lando Norris has enjoyed a stunning start to the 2025 F1 season with McLaren but it appears that, on the rare occasion, the British driver does not always have the diet of a top-level athlete
Lando Norris’ pursuit of F1 glory is seemingly being fuelled by an almost-endless supply of spring rolls, new footage has revealed. The McLaren star is currently sitting top of the drivers standings after a stunning start to the 2025 campaign.
He claimed victory in the first race of the season at the Australian GP and followed that up with a second-place finish in China last weekend – with McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri securing victory.
And while top-level athletes would expect to have a very restrictive and selective diet in order to fuel performances, it appears that British driver Norris is not exactly following that trend.
During an old clip of Norris alongside Twitch streamer and former Formula 3 racer Max Fewtrell, the pair started tucking into a takeaway. The McLaren man can be seen devouring a few spring rolls, with his friend asking how many he had eaten so far.

After revealing that he had claimed three, Fewtrell then counted up how many were remaining, eventually totalling an eye-watering 17 before saying: “You ordered 17 spring rolls? Is that f***ing normal?”
Norris simply nodded in response to the question, hilariously admitting that he liked spring rolls. The current F1 leader is not the only driver to have given a slight insight into his diet.
Former Ferrari star Carlos Sainz previously revealed that drivers are indeed compelled to follow a strict diet – but only until the actual races are done. Speaking in 2023, the Spaniard said: “I always say the best places where I eat are – not in this particular order – but Spain, Italy and Japan.

“This is where I always look forward to the food and I tell my engineers that I might be half a kilo or a kilo heavier that weekend! Once the [F1] weekend starts on Thursday, you follow a very specific diet, you know it’s going to go well for your stomach, but on Sunday night we all go out for a good dinner, or maybe on Wednesdays before the race weekend starts, so you always get to taste a bit the city where you go.”
“I’m a very lucky guy,” he added. “I can eat as much as I want and I will never go above 73 kilos. It doesn’t matter how much I eat because of the amount of sport [I do] and I think my constitution is just very, very, very good in a way. I think it will change with age, but at least it’s helping me now.
“I still follow my diet, I’m really into fitness and calories, the amount of protein I eat in a day. When you love fitness, you take care of these things, but when it’s time to enjoy I also make sure I enjoy food, and I have a good relationship with food.”
