An OnlyFans creator who goes by Jessica Wetz was one of the latest additions on the campaign trail for NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh — until the party said Thursday it would no longer be working with her due to comments she made about the Holocaust.

Wetz made comments on her TikTok account in a post last September, comparing remarks made by an Israeli member of parliament about “Palestinian babies” to remarks made by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis about “Jewish babies.”

In an emailed statement to the National Post, NDP campaign spokesperson Anne McGrath said: “We disagree with the comparison that was made. Nothing should be compared to the Holocaust. Doing so minimizes the scale and horror of that genocide and disrespects the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others who were murdered. This individual will not be participating in future campaign events. We do not vet every creator we speak to, but we are reviewing how we engage with online voices to ensure alignment with our values.”

Although much of Wetz’s content is rated R, she also uses her social media platforms to discuss her health and to condemn Israel for its “apartheid and genocide against Palestinians.” But there’s been a distinct pivot recently.

This week on Instagram, she posted three videos — two of her talking with Singh and one showing her time with the NDP team on its campaign bus.

In a video posted to Instagram on Monday, Wetz and Singh discuss the Middle East.

“The (NDP Canada) advocate for Canada acknowledging the state of Palestine. It makes me so angry that the Liberals and Conservatives put us on the wrong side of history by refusing to do it,” Wetz wrote in the caption of the post.

“As Canadians, we’re proud the American military does not get to decide what goes on inside our borders because we don’t vote them. Palestinians deserve the exact same thing,” said Wetz, speaking to Singh with a keffiyeh draped over her shoulders.

“And I know you feel similar,” she added, gesturing to the NDP leader.

He responded: “Absolutely…should not be selling or buying from a country, especially a Netanyahu government that violates human rights. We should be sanctioning those that are involved in these war crimes.”

Wetz said that the “censorship” on Palestinian voices was “unbelievable.”

“We need to get out there and have our voices heard as Canadians because we have the privilege of being able to vote and really have a say in this,” she said.

In an Instagram post from Tuesday, Wetz explained how she ended up on the campaign trail.

“In my elevator 4 years ago I ran into (Jagmeet Singh) and made a TikTok video,” Wetz said in the caption of the post. She added that Singh sent her a message recently asking if she wanted to “talk healthcare.”

She said she met with one of Singh’s staff members “fighting the system for endometriosis care” who follows her content. She called NDP Canada “inspiring” for working hard to “make people’s voices heard.”

The video in the post shows Wetz on the NDP campaign bus, at rallies, posing with Singh, and at times donning a keffiyeh. The video also calls on content creators to contact Wetz if they want to “get on the bus.”

In another Instagram video, posted on Monday, Wetz sat down with Singh to discuss health care. The caption reads: “The public health system gets screwed to give the illusion private would be better, but it’s only better for rich people!”

Wetz is not the only content creator that has been showing support for NDP Canada. In a post on the party’s Instagram account, it said Singh has “met with creators from many different parts of the internet, from politics to fitness to women’s health.”The post also called on more creators to lend their voices to the campaign.

“This election is a critical one, and we need all the help we can get from dedicated, value-aligned creators,” the post said.

Wetz has not responded to the National Post’s request for comment about her involvement in the campaign.
