Liverpool will look to move one step closer to the Premier League title with a win against Fulham but Mohamed Salah could set a record to further add to his legacy in the top-flight

Mohamed Salah can make another bit of Premier League history against Fulham at Craven Cottage. The Egyptian superstar is enjoying his best season yet for Liverpool and could find himself surpassing Arsenal and Premier League legend Thierry Henry in one area this weekend.

The 31-year-old, who is set to see his contract at Anfield expire come the end of the season, can become the first player in Premier League history to have a hand in two goals in five consecutive away matches. The former Roma and Fiorentina ace has already seen contributions against Manchester City, Aston Villa, Everton and Bournemouth.

If he can achieve the feat against Fulham, it will see him better the four matches he already recorded earlier this season. Salah completed a streak against Southampton, Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham United on that occasion.

Thierry Henry has managed to complete a streak of four games in the past, between April and August in 2003. Getting involved in the final third at Craven Cottage could see Salah break out on his own if he’s coming up with goals and assists.

The Premier League icon has notched 27 goals and 17 assists already this term with eight games still remaining in the competition. And Salah’s production has come amidst a season where his future has been speculated upon more than any other.

Arne Slot believes his star’s performances prove that he has not been distracted this season, despite uncertainty over where he will play his football next season. The Dutchman reckons it is the same for out-of-contract team-mates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.

Slot said earlier this week: “And for the rest, for eight months it went a bit up and down with talks about him [Alexander-Arnold, Virgil or Mo, but we have never been focused on those talks, we have always been focused on what we have to do, and for Virgil and Mo that is trying to win the Merseyside derby and for Trent it is trying to be fit as soon as he can.

“It is a situation that is there for eight or nine months now and I think all these three players have performed so well under these circumstances so it doesn’t affect me at all.”

Salah’s qualites have seen it difficult for Slot’s only Liverpool signing to break into the team. Federico Chiesa has struggled for minutes since recovery from injury.

“At the moment, he is in competition with Mo Salah and I don’t think you can deny Mo has quite a good season. That makes it sometimes tough for him but we know we can trust him when we need him. Not only him but maybe some of the other ones who haven’t played as much as Mo or Virgil but we can trust them every time we need them.”
