Jurgen Klopp remains focused on his current role with Red Bull despite reported interest from Real Madrid, his agent has confirmed. The former Liverpool boss has been fulfilling the job as the Head of Global Soccer with the energy drink giants since January.

It represents his first job since leaving Anfield last summer. Despite that, Klopp has been linked with a host of jobs over the past few months.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly emerged as contenders for his signature with Carlo Ancelotti expected to depart the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season. And it was suggested that the Real hotseat was one of two roles that he would leave Red Bull for – the other being the Brazilian national team.

His agent Marc Kosicke has now spoken out, suggesting that stepping back into the dugout is not on his client’s agenda as things stand. Speaking to Sky in Germany, he said: “Jürgen is very happy with his new role as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull. He’s fully focused and happy there.”

Current RB Leipzig interim head coach Zsolt Löw had a similar view on Klopp’s role as he continues his search for a new manager of the German giants. Speaking in a press conference, Low said: “I think Jürgen made this decision [to join Red Bull] consciously. He is very, very happy in his role.”

Klopp has also spoken out on his future and reaffirmed his belief that his managerial career could already be over. Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “A few months ago I said I don’t see myself on the sidelines any more and that is still the case. But I still love football, I still love working and Red Bull gives me the perfect platform for that.”

One man who could be already on the lookout for his next job is current Real boss Ancelotti. He has hinted that he expects to leave the Spanish giants sooner rather than later.

Speaking after the defeat to Arsenal earlier this week, the Italian said: “It could be this year, next year when my contract runs out. There’s no problem about it. But when I am done here, I will be grateful to this club. It could be tomorrow, in one year, or in 10 years, but I will be grateful to this club. And that’s it. Full stop.

“We have done very well in the last seasons but this year we have had to suffer. Things haven’t gone as expected but in sport in happen because there are no unbeatable teams.”
