Bournemouth have slapped a £70million price tag on Antoine Semenyo as seven Premier League rivals circle over the attacker. The 25-year-old joined the Cherries from Bristol City in 2023 and has developed into a key player for Andoni Iraola’s side.

The South Coast team have been one of the surprise packages of the season and are well in the race for a European qualification place. Semenyo has been pivotal, scoring 11 goals in all competitions so far this term.

He signed a bumper new contract last July, which still has four more years to run. But his impressive performances have attracted the attention of several top teams in the top-flight.

They look set to put Bournemouth under intense pressure to sell this summer. Manchester United are understood to be one of those clubs, as boss Ruben Amorim seeks to overhaul his squad.

Amorim has made signing a new centre-forward his top priority for the summer window. Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but it also appears they are sizing up Semenyo.

According to Sky Sports, United are the current front-runners to sign the Bournemouth star. But United are facing competition from Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.

There is a wide expectation that this summer’s window will see a significant turnaround in players across the Premier League. Despite the large-scale interest, Bournemouth are set on bringing in a hefty fee if they do sell.

The Cherries are understood to value the Ghana international as high as £70m. But the structure of the deal could well include a lower fixed fee with add-ons increasing the price, similar to the one which saw Spurs sign Dominic Solanke last summer.

United boss Amorim is thought to be a big admirer of Semenyo and has ideas about how to deploy him in a new-look attack next season. Despite the interest in him, Semenyo is focused on helping Bournemouth qualify for Europe.

“I feel like what we have done this year we do definitely deserve the European places,” Semenyo told Sky Sports after scoring the winner against Fulham last week. “All season long we have been grinding and beating the top six teams.

“This little phase we are going through, losing and drawing, every team goes through that but that is why this win is so important. We came into the game wanting to give our all and you could see at the end in the celebrations that it meant a lot.

“It has been a tough couple of weeks, but it is good to be back on the board. You know me I have to cook, if I don’t cook I am not working. As soon as I got it I knew I was going to shift onto my left, I just needed space.

“It was a nice tidy, calm and collected finish. I knew the goal would come, I’m so happy, it’s such a relief.”
