Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has confirmed his new role – and insists “it’s a responsibility I take seriously.”

‘Iron Mike’ returned to the ring after an almost 20-year absence in November when he stepped in against Jake Paul. Tyson faced off against the social media star turned professional boxer in a Netflix-backed event at AT&T Stadium in Texas in November.

The fight, watched by an astonishing 108 million viewers on the streaming platform, became one of the most-watched events in American history, despite the 29-year age gap between the pair. Unsurprisingly given the respective ages, Paul emerged victorious after eight rounds via a unanimous judges’ decision.

Now, five months on from his defeat, Tyson has revealed his next adventure -taking the helm at Carma HoldCo, the parent company of the canabis firm that houses his own Tyson 2.0 brand and Ric Flair Drip.

In a statement confirming his new position, Tyson said: “Carma HoldCo was built on the belief that powerful stories and even more powerful products can change how people connect with wellness, entertainment and culture.

“This isn’t just a title – it’s a responsibility I take seriously. I’ve wanted to be more involved for a long time and now is the right time to take that step. I’m fully committed to making sure everything we create stays true to who we are while growing in new and exciting ways.”

As for speculation over whether Tyson will ever fight again, he seems keen on exploring new ventures since his defeat by “The Problem Child” last year.

Speaking about his current plans after his bout against Paul, Tyson admitted: “The only person I’m fighting now is my accountant. Other than that, I’m just living life and I’m doing good right now.

“I’ll still do 200 reps a day – shoulders, abs, sit-ups – usually every morning,” he also professed, as he confirmed that he is in good health after his high-profile defeat. “Listen. If you look well and you feel well, you are well. But it’s not always about how you look, it’s how you feel.”

In further insight into the boxing legend’s career prospects, Amir Tyson, his son, offered what might be seen as the final word on his father’s return to boxing. He said: “I think he’s done,. My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.”
