Jurgen Klopp is in no rush to return to management and will turn down any opportunities that arise this summer, it’s been claimed. Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season and is now working as head of global soccer for Red Bull, where he oversees the drinks company’s array of clubs.

The former Liverpool boss is enjoying a lower profile with Red Bull, who allow him to stay connected with the game, but without the glare of the spotlight and so much stress. Klopp decided to step down as Reds boss and take a break because he was burnt out.

The 57-year-old has thrown himself into his new role, flying around the world to visit the Red Bull clubs in Brazil, Japan and the United States. He is enjoying the change of pace and new challenge and is therefore not interested in speculation linking him with Real Madrid.

Speculation that Carlo Ancelotti could leave at the end of the season led to repeated rumours of Klopp succeeding him in the Spanish capital. Anas Laghari, one of the men hoping to take over from Real president Florentino Perez, is reportedly a fan of Klopp and would try to tempt him to join should he take control of Los Blancos.

However, that would be a non-starter, according to The Telegraph, which reports that Klopp won’t even consider a return to management until 2026 at the earliest – and he might decide never to take the reins at another club. He has become a grandfather for the first time and is very happy with both his personal life and current job.

As his agent Marc Kosicke told Sky Germany recently: “Jürgen is very happy with his new role as head of global soccer at Red Bull. He’s fully focused and happy there.”

Klopp himself wrote on Instagram : “A few months ago I said I don’t see myself on the sidelines any more and that is still the case. But I still love football, I still love working and Red Bull gives me the perfect platform for that.”

Were Klopp to be tempted back to management, it seems much more likely that he would do so for an international role. He is understood to be keen on managing Germany one day, while the England or USMNT roles would also appear a good fit in the future.

He has also recently been linked with the Brazil job after Dorival Junior was sacked last month. Ironically, Ancelotti has also been constantly linked with taking over the Selecao.

Speaking back in 2024 when his time at Liverpool was coming to an end, Klopp explained his reasons for moving away from management. “I am, how can I say it, running out of energy,” he said. “I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”
