[SINGAPORE] Citi on Friday (Apr 25) announced that former Goldman Sachs banker Christopher Chan will be its new Asia-North and South head of markets solutions for financial institutions, starting July.
In his new role, he will drive strategy in providing bespoke hedging, financing and investment solutions for Citi’s financial institution clients.
Before Citi, he spent over 10 years as South-east Asia head of fixed income clearing corporation and equity distribution at Goldman Sachs. He was also a board member of Goldman Sachs Singapore.
He previously held several senior banking, solutions and sales roles at Deutsche Bank and Nomura, said Citi.
This announcement is the latest in a series of appointments for Citi’s markets business, said the bank.
Last December, it announced that two former JP Morgan bankers had assumed leadership roles in Citi – Anand Goyal was appointed as Citi’s head of foreign exchange institutional sales for Asia-South, Japan, Asia-North and Australia; and Ng Hooi Wan became the bank’s Malaysia head of markets.
