The final weeks of the season are upon us. The finalists of European competitions decided, domestic champions already named and teams already relegated from the Premier League.

But there is still plenty to play for as teams attempt to earn their place in next season’s Champions League and teams battle it out in the play-offs for promotion. The Club World Cup also remains on the horizon for the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.

And with that, the transfer window comes sooner than ever. Liverpool will already firmly have their eyes on preparing for next season, while Manchester United and Arsenal will hope to strengthen their hands to improve next season.

The countdown is on for teams to start making their moves. Mirror Football takes a look at some of the latest transfer news and rumours below.

Rashford decision

Marcus Rashford is said to have partnered with super-agent Pini Zahavi in his bid to facilitate a move to Barcelona. The forward, on loan at Aston Villa, is expected to leave Manchester United permanently this summer and the Nou Camp is his dream destination.

Rashford’s desire to move to La Liga has been repeatedly made clear. And a new report from Mundo Deportivo claims the 27-year-old is now being represented by Zahavi; an agent with close ties to Barcelona and represents their manager, Hansi Flick, in addition to Robert Lewandowski.

Zahavi is said to have a strong relationship with the Barca president, Joan Laporta, and it is claimed that talks over a loan move this summer have already taken place. Rashford is missing the end of the season with injury however.

Four major deals lined up

Arsenal are ready to splash cash on four key summer signings this summer as Andrea Barta takes charge of his first transfer window as sporting director. As revealed by Mirror Football , the Gunners have set their sights set on a new striker, a left winger, a central midfielder and are also interested in Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen, as they hope to get over the hump in the Premier League.

Viktor Gyokeres and long-term target Benjamin Sesko are touted as the club’s most likely targets, while they retain interest in Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. A deal for Real Sociedad playmaker Martin Zubimendi is also thought to be all but done.

Frimpong release clause emerges

Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has a release clause of €35million (£29m) amid links of a move to Liverpool. Frimpong has long been linked to the Premier League and has been touted as a possible replacement for the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Multiple reports state that the Netherlands international would be keen to join the Reds. Frimpong has spent four years at Leverkusen and worked under ex-Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

The Leverkusen ace is under contract until 2028.
