After suffering their Champions League exit earlier in the week, it is back down to earth for Premier League action for the Gunners. Three matches remain and Mikel Arteta and co must find a single point to confirm their place in Europe’s biggest compeitition once again.

Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton await as the north London side attempt to finish 2024/25 on a high. The Arsenal boss is not yet ready to relent.

“You cannot win the Premier League, that’s clear, but the last 16 days that we have with three games to go, make sure that we make ourselves proud at least to compete and end in the manner that we deserve,” Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

And of course, attention will soon turn to the transfer market with the Gunners expected to complete at least four deals. It is set to be a busy summer.

Mirror Football takes a look at some of the news and rumours surrounding the club.

Arteta transfer statement

Mikel Arteta has admitted Arsenal require reinforcement in their forward line to push further than they have befeore. The former midfielder noted it was what the Gunners required in January.

“I have to make it more clear. In January it was clear or not? I told you, because you were in the room I think many times, I made a very clear statement, and the statement continues the same,” he said.

“I want the best team, the best players. If we have three goalscorers over 25, bring them in, we’re going to be a much better team, yes.

“Probably they are [the most difficult players to sign], because there’s not that many who have put those numbers. I mean, it’s something that’s in the start, there’s not that many in the Premier League, and to do that. We’ll try to improve, but certainly improve the ones that we have right now, and love the ones that we have right now.”

Agent at work

Leroy Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is eyeing a Premier League transfer for his client. The Germany international is set to be out of contract this summer and was initially expected to extend his stay with Bayern Munich.

But the Bundesliga champions are unwilling to improve their current offer and now it appears Zahavi is searching for other deals. Arsenal are said to be joined by Newcastle as a potential destination with Sane desiring Champions League football, per Bild.

Should an agreement not fall into place with Bayern, a move to England is expected to be in the offing. The 29-year-old is said to prefer a move to London but the Magpies remain an option.

Arsenal moves ‘confirmed’

Arsenal will move for a striker and left winger this summer, per Fabrizio Romano. While a deal for midfielder Martin Zubimendi is expected to go through, the Italian reporter confirmed that the Gunners will sign two players to help strengthen their forward line.

It seems a no.9 and a winger will be among the club’s priorities in the market with links to the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Nico Williams. It is said however, that new sporting director Andrea Berta wants to focus on signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
