England boss Thomas Tuchel is set to make changes to the side that only beat Andorra 1-0 at the weekend for the meeting with Senegal at the City Ground, and goalkeeper Dean Henderson may be handed an opportunity

Ivan Toney may have to wait for his England chance.

Former Brentford striker Toney has been out of the picture since going to the Saudi Pro League and must have been hoping to start against Senegal having not featured against Andorra.

But Thomas Tuchel has hinted heavily that Harry Kane will start which means that Toney – back in the squad for the first time since leaving the Premier League last summer – may only get a run-out as a substitute.

England boss Tuchel said: “Let’s see what the game demands. It is important we get to know him as a personality and it is clear in training what he can do as a goalscorer. Let’s see what the game brings but he has every chance to play.”

One player who could get an England audition against Senegal on Tuesday night however is Crystal Palace stopper Dean Henderson.

Tuchel also rates Burnley ’s James Trafford highly as England look to their keeper options to put pressure on No1 Jordan Pickford. The England boss is preparing to change the keeper but still wants to go strong against Senegal after the lacklustre win against Andorra.

Tuchel said: “Jordan is, in the moment, in front. We chose a very, very serious line-up against Andorra to also not give the signal that we are preparing something or trying something.

“There was no doubt we could have played with Trafford or Dean Henderson in goal against Andorra but Jordan is, in the moment, slightly ahead.

“He will do everything to stay ahead and the others, hopefully, to do everything to challenge him but it could be a time to give some minutes to Dean or Trafford.”
