Liverpool have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer and could yet conduct more business in the remaining seven weeks of the window to strengthen Arne Slot’s hand

Liverpool set the pace in the transfer window this summer and will soon see the coming together of their players on the field. Arne Slot has started to see his squad return for pre-season having added the likes of Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong to his ranks.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are among the first in attendance as the side prepares to battle to retain its Premier League title. Despite significant business already, the club remain linked to significant deals across the pitch.

The Merseyside club continue to be talked about in relation to Marc Guehi amid Ibrahima Konate’s uncertain future and Jarell Quansah’s exit. Luis Diaz’s future also appears to be up the air with persistant rumours of his departure.

First, the Reds will first prepare for their first friendly of the summer. But it will take on a more poignant responsibility as it acts as the club’s first match following the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.

Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news and rumours around Anfield.

Guehi stance

As things stand, Newcastle have not returned to make a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, with Liverpool still among the favourites for his signature. The Chronicle report that the Magpies are monitoring Guehi’s situation from afar after missing out on the defender last summer.

The possibility of revisiting the negotiating table has not been ruled out but for the moment, the Reds appear to have a clear run. Though, there have been concerns over the fee the Eagles want for Guehi, despite just having one year remaining on his contract.

Liverpool are keen to bring in a centre-back who’s younger than Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, the latter of whom has also entered the last 12 months of his deal.

Luis Diaz demand

Liverpool star Luis Diaz has called for Barcelona to place a clause in any contract they offer that would come into play should the club fail to register him. The Catalan club last season were unable to register Dani Olmo in time for the start of the season due to failing to meet La Liga’s financial rules.

Liverpool are said to have little interest in sanctioning an exit or the Colombia international but Barca remain fans of the player after missing out on Nico Williams earlier this month. They are said to be working with the player’s agents on an agreement.

Diaz, 28, is under contract until 2027 and has persistently been linked with Barcelona over the past 12 months. Sporting director Deco holds the attacker in high regard and is now facing the demands that Diaz would like compensation if he is unable to be registered, should a deal go ahead.

Rodrygo latest

Real Madrid star Rodrygo has been touted as a possible replacement for Luis Diaz, should the winger leave this summer. The Brazil international has failed to convince new boss Xabi Alonso of his worth thus far and has struggled to make an impact in the Club World Cup.

The forward did not make it onto the pitch as Los Blancos were hammed against Paris Saint-Germain, but Alonso has suggested that was nothing to do with his future. “I didn’t play Rodrygo for a technical decision. We thought we would be better off with other players. It’s not about his future,” he said.

Liverpool are claimed to be ‘one to watch’ in the race for Rodrygo’s signature. The 24-year-old is said to be prioritising a move to the Premier League, per Sky Sports.
