Liverpool have already shattered the British transfer record this summer. But Richard Hughes and Co are not done yet as they continue to work on signing a new No 9 for Arne Slot.

The Reds have been linked with Alexander Isak for months, although Newcastle are understood to have no appetite to sell their star striker. That hasn’t stopped Liverpool from firming up their interest, though, in a huge summer transfer twist.

Elsewhere, talk of Luis Diaz moving overseas refuses to go away and Bayern Munich have now lodged a bid for the wantaway winger.

While it remains to be seen if Diaz will exit Anfield, a number of outgoings are expected with Darwin Nunez among those who are likely to depart in the coming weeks.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Liverpool transfer news…

Reds make Isak approach

Liverpool have made contact with Newcastle to express their interest in pursuing a deal worth £120million for Alexander Isak, though their Premier League rivals continue to insist that the Sweden international is not for sale.

The Reds are in the market for a new No 9 and have been tipped to make for Isak after the striker plundered 23 goals in the top-flight for Newcastle last season.

The Athletic broke the news of Liverpool’s approach. It remains to be seen, though, if a blockbuster deal for Isak, 25, will materialise before the transfer window shuts.

Konate snubs Saudi offer

Ibrahima Konate’s future may be up in the air but the defender will not be moving to Saudi Arabia amid interest from an unnamed club.

Mirror Football revealed on Tuesday evening that Konate had been the subject of a lucrative offer from a Saudi Pro League club. But the Frenchman has no interest in moving to the Middle East as Real Madrid continue to pursue him.

Konate is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and could follow Trent Alexander-Arnold in quitting Liverpool for a move to the Bernabeu next summer.

Diaz bid rejected

Liverpool have rejected a £58m bid from Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz – but the Colombia star has made it clear that he wants to leave Anfield this summer.

That’s per The Athletic, who broke the news of Bayern’s bid on Tuesday. The German champions are in the market for a winger and have also been linked with Gabriel Martinelli.

Diaz was the subject of transfer interest from Barcelona this summer and is open to a move abroad after winning the Premier League with the Reds last season.
