The young British star caused panicked amongst the boxing community after he rocked up to his fight with Usyk just 90 minutes before he is set to make the walk to the ring
Daniel Dubois sparked fears after arriving at Wembley Stadium just 90 minutes before his heavyweight rematch with Oleksandr Usyk this evening.
The British star is looking to level the series after suffering the second defeat of his professional career to the Ukrainian back in 2023. Usyk would go on to stop ‘Triple D’ in the ninth round in Poland. However, the fight was not without drama after Dubois sent the ‘Cat’ crashing to the canvas with what many believed was a shot to the body. That said, it was later ruled a low blow – much to the frustration of Team Dubois.
‘Triple D’ has been on an absolute tear as of late, defeating Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic, before picking up the biggest win of his career last September. Dubois stopped two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at Wembley with a vicious knockout in the fifth round.
With ‘Triple D’ in the form of his life, the 27-year-old is confident he can become the first man to ever beat Usyk. A few of the Ukrainian’s teammates were competing on the undercard, therefore, the 38-year-old decided to turn up just after 7pm. That said, fans were left concerned after the DAZN commentary confirmed Dubois was still yet to arrive – just 90 minutes before the main event.
Thankfully, the concerns were short-lived after Dubois was shown on the big screen arriving just after 9:15pm UK time.
