SANSANETTI (7.00, nap) is tipped to complete a quickfire hat-trick in the Family Sunday 10th August Book Now Handicap at Leicester on Wednesday evening.
This daughter of 2020 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe hero Sottsass had an underwhelming start to her career as a juvenile, placing nowhere in two starts at Lingfield and Newmarket last September.
And there seemed little progress over the winter when her seasonal reappearance at Kempton in May saw her finish ninth of 13 and 15-and-a-half lengths away from the winner Cosi Bello.
However, the charge of Stuart Williams has been an entirely different proposition since she was upped in trip and moved into the handicap sphere.
Six weeks ago, she beat eight rivals on the all-weather at Chelmsford.
And then 18 days ago, Pat Cosgrave’s mount made a successful switch to turf by defying a 6lb rise in a 10-runner course and distance handicap .
A repeat of that is a relatively modest contest should see her go treble tops here.
CRYSTAL PIER (5.15, nb) should surely improve for her debut run ahead of the Play At The Races Stableduel EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Doncaster.
Ralph Beckett’s charge was slowly away at the first attempt and kept on without ever really looking likely to win, chasing home Stimulative Trip to finish a two-length third.
But as a half-sister to three winners, Crystal Pier certainly has the pedigree to make her mark.
