Leah Williamson has been named as the highest-earning footballer in the Lionesses, with her cool £4million fortune dominating that of her peers. The England captain has put in some formidable performances with the armband, helping lead her country to three consecutive major finals in a row, including this year’s Women’s Euro match-up against Spain.

The calm and collected defender has been a rock at the back for England, earning 63 senior caps and scoring five goals in the process. She has spent her entire domestic career with Arsenal, winning every major honour available with the north London side – including the 2024/25 Champions League.

It comes as no surprise, then, that Williamson has made plenty of dough as a towering centre-half for club and country. Hello! Magazine reports that the Lioness skipper has a net worth of £4m, earning a decent salary of £150,000 per year while playing for the Gunners.

She makes the rest of her fortune up through various endorsement deals, with brands including Gucci, Pepsi and Nike.

Williamson also collects a salary playing for her country, set at £2,000 per match for both men and women in England – but she may not keep this for herself, as this money is typically donated to charity by the players.

Chelsea right-back Lucy Bronze isn’t far off her international teammate and domestic rival’s net worth, with a £3.5m estimated at her disposal. The veteran defender boosts her own income with brand deals too, including the likes of Visa, Sure and EE.

However, in terms of net worth, Williamson blows the rest of the Lionesses out of the water. The closest to either her or Bronze is Chloe Kelly, with assets totalling £2.3m.

Kelly’s Land Rover deal worth £1.5m contributed to her net worth, as well as becoming a model with popular brand Calvin Klein. Standout star Lauren James is worth £1.6m, with a reported salary at Chelsea of £350,000 – meaning she outearns Williamson yearly but still doesn’t touch her overall wealth.

One Lioness that retired from international duty before Euro 2025 began, but is still included in this list is Fran Kirby, with net worth of £1.6m.

The Brighton midfielder has been a stalwart in the team for some time. With the squad, she won the Euros in 2022 and scored some important goals for her country.

Williamson will be hoping to lead her team to victory once again, as the Lionesses aim to retain the Euros trophy and successfully defend their title for the first time in England’s history.

Discussing their rise to the final, the captain said: “It has not been smooth sailing and I feel like things haven’t necessarily gone to plan.

“We said before we came in and I said I am intrigued to see the level just keeps rising and there are more and more unknowns and you have to be ready for everything.

“And I don’t think it has gone smooth sailing for anybody yet, which is the point. It makes a great tournament and it shows what is going on. We just have to keep rising as well, this new England has to find their feet quicker, which is good.”

She added: “We have one more to go. I promise you we will give it everything we can.”
