Betty Draper has had her fair share of drama with advertising sharks.
But in real life, January Jones has a touching relationship with the creatures of the deep sea. In fact, the Mad Men alum included her son Xander, 13, in her advocacy work at Oceana’s SeaChange Summer Party in California July 26, marking a rare public outing for the teen.
“So excited to celebrate Oceana’s 23rd birthday and attend @oceanaseachange last night!” January wrote on her July 28 Instagram post. “Sharks are my 2nd favorite animal. They’re iconic, powerful, and essential to the health of our oceans. But they’re also under threat.”
In the post, the 47-year-old shared a photo of her and Xander—whose face is hidden behind a blue heart emoji—together at the event, where they helped the campaign “to protect sharks and keep our oceans healthy.”
And if her work with the organization wasn’t enough, January also shared an impressive shot of her swimming with sharks over the years.
