Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Rare Photos of 16-Year-Old Daughter Maddie From Junior Prom
Jamie Lynn Spears‘ daughter is addressing her near-death experience for the first time.
Eight years after Maddie Watson was briefly pinned underwater when the ATV she was driving crashed into a pond on her family’s Louisiana property, the teen spoke out about the harrowing incident.
Describing herself as “injury-prone,” Maddie said in an Aug. 12 YouTube video that detailed her childhood illnesses and injuries, “I did have an accident.”
She continued, “I was in a coma and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed.”
The 17-year-old added that she was “in and out of the hospital” and had “treatments all the time” during her younger days due to a variety of health struggles.
“I was very sick when I was really little,” she shared. “I had bad asthma.”
But throughout it all, Maddie persevered. As Jamie Lynn—who shares the high school senior with her ex Casey Aldridge—noted on Instagram shortly after Maddie’s video, “You can work so hard, and do everything right, yet still face adversity, no matter what path you’re on in life.”
