Jeff—whose parents divorced when he was a baby—said that the list of her loved ones “never stopped growing” for the rest of her life.
“She always gave so much more than she ever asked for,” he continued, “After a long fight with Lewy Body Dementia, she passed away today, surrounded by so many of us who loved her—her kids, grandkids, and my dad. I know she felt our love in those final moments. We were all so lucky to be in her life. I hold her safe in my heart forever.”
Following her split with Ted, Jackie went on to get married to her husband Miguel “Mike” Bezos and welcome children Mark and Christina, with her role as a mom inspiring her charity work.
“Jackie’s experiences as a mother and student shaped some of her life’s most important work,” the foundation wrote. “Jackie’s desire to help improve life for others extended well beyond the Foundation, and included large-scale charitable projects focused on medical research and community healthcare.”
And of course, she put everything she had into her family—including making “countless trips to Radio Shack” for the eventual CEO.
“Jackie’s life of service was second only to her passion for family and gathering,” the post continued. “As a grandmother, Jackie found immense joy in watching her family grow. She passed down not only traditions and stories, but also her values—kindness, resilience, and the importance of togetherness.”
