Liverpool have spent big this summer on the likes of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez and there could be more new signings before the transfer window closes

Liverpool have enjoyed a busy summer so far, having spent almost £300million on new signings while raising almost £200m through sales. The likes of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Giorgi Mamardashvili have all made big money moves to Anfield.

Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Ben Doak, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips have all departed and there could be more incomings and outgoings before the transfer window slams shut.

Alexander Isak’s future remains up in the air, while fringe players like Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas could still leave. Here, Mirror Football takes a look at all of the latest transfer news and rumours from in and around Anfield…

Isak boost

Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Alexander Isak after Wolves boss Vitor Pereira admitted the club could cash in on Newcastle target Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Newcastle have already had two bids rejected for Strand Larsen, who is a potential replacement for Isak. And when asked about the striker’s future, Pereira admitted: “I don’t know, I’m not the owner.

“Until now, Jorgen is our player, we’ll see what happens. Football is football and every player has a price, even (Lionel) Messi or Cristiano (Ronaldo). We’ll see what happens.”

Guehi decision

Liverpool are hoping to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi before the transfer window closes and do not have a ‘Plan B’ in case a deal cannot be struck.

According to the Athletic, Liverpool’s interest in Guehi is because the deal is viewed as a ‘market opportunity’ because the England international is entering the final year of his contract. However, no other defenders are being considered if Liverpool cannot reach an agreement with Palace.

The recent signing of Giovanni Leoni from Parma for £26m means Liverpool now have four centre-back options, although there are concerns over Joe Gomez’s fitness and Ibrahima Konate’s contract situation,

Elliott interest

According to the Daily Mail, RB Leipzig are ready to make a move for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott if Chelsea complete a deal for Xavi Simons.

Simons, who has made 46 goal contributions in 78 appearances across all competitions for the Leipzig, is keen on a move to Chelsea. Leipzig are said to value the 22-year-old at around £60m and are open to letting him leave.

If a deal can be reached, it is claimed that Elliott is their top target to replace him, with Liverpool open to bids of around £50m.
