Julia Roberts is saving face—except it’s not her own.
The Oscar winner made a rare public appearance as she attended the 2025 Venice International Film Festival in a unique look that has a special connection to one of her movies.
As she arrived at the event Aug. 27, Julia donned a black and white cardigan that was emblazoned with multiple iterations of director Luca Guadagnino’s face, which she wore over a black T-shirt and long shorts. She completed the look with her red, curled hair draped over her shoulders, a pair of round black sunglasses and a black leather duffle bag.
The Erin Brockovich star’s style choice was a touching nod to Luca and their new film After the Hunt, which is debuting at the festival and also stars Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri and Chloë Sevigny.
And the fashion statement was especially sweet considering that Luca—who also directed Challengers and Call Me By Your Name—told Vanity Fair Aug. 27 that his friendship with Julia was a new one, explaining, “We started talking [about this movie] and became instant friends.”
