Tommy Fury has been keeping himself fit during his time away from the boxing ring but there are some doubts that he actually completed a 100km over in France earlier this month

Tommy Fury may not have completed an energy-sapping 100km triathlon after doubts emerged about him having done the whole course. Fury, 26, took part in the gruelling event over in France last weekend.

He only completed 10 days of training before the triathlon but was still seen sprinting over the finish line, where he was met by partner Molly-Mae Hague and daughter Bambi. Taking to Instagram after the event, he wrote: “I left it all out in the French Riviera. 100km triathlon on 10 days training…. completed.”

Molly-Mae then sent her congratulations to Fury as she replied: “Proud.” But some fresh doubts have emerged over whether the boxer actually finished the triathlon.

As per Marathon Investigation, Fury did not actually finish due to his bike splits not being logged beyond the 46km point. The splits were logged every 6km, with Fury’s times being officially recorded as ‘did not finish’.

Fury however was not the only athlete dealt out that status. 93 fellow competitors also did not finish the course and as per tri247.com, road closures had been shortened due to the course being changed for amateurs.

And that meant that some groups were tasked with six laps of around 13km, causing them to not pass through the finish line before roads were reopened. A statement from the Professional Triathletes Organisation read: “Due to our permit for the road closures in France, unfortunately Tommy and some other athletes in the 100km amateur race were unable to complete the bike course before the cut-off time.

“However, given our philosophy to grow the sport and encourage new athletes, we wanted to give them as full an experience as possible. So they were all given the opportunity to do the 18km run and cross the finish line.”

Regardless, Fury still received medal once he’d got to the end of the event. And while he is keen to focus on other sports for the time being, it appears that he is keen to return to the ring having once again called out former foe Jake Paul.

“If I were to fight him, which I think will 100 per cent happen, then he has got to stop talking b****** like he is every single day on Twitter,” Fury told Boxing Social.

“He is offering stupid numbers that are not realistic. He thinks because he has got a few followers on Instagram and YouTube that he can call the shots, but if you want to come into a sport where we fight, then none of that matters. You lost, I won. So let’s talk some realistic numbers.”
