Newsboy fancies his nap, Bumpy Evans, to win smoothly at Uttoxeter and also hopes Nordic Glory can score at Wolverhampton and complete his Daily Double
BUMPY EVANS (3.40, Nap) can continue his upward trajectory with his fifth victory in a row when he takes on seven rivals in the 3m quinnbet.com Handicap Chase at Uttoxeter on Tuesday. The seven-year-old has not been out of the first two in his last six outings. He has won five of them, including the last four for Tim Vaughan, and is fancied to win on his debut for his new trainer Kerry Lee.
Last time out, the son of Ocovango looked better than ever when upped up in trip to 3m1f at Cartmel. Always travelling well and jumping boldly, my selection eased clear and spread-eagled a nine-strong field by 28 lengths. Previously to that, at Bangor in May, he won by four and a quarter lengths from Another Lord who has franked the form by winning twice since.

At Wolverhampton, NORDIC GLORY (6.30, nb) is fancied to land the Book To Stay Wolverhampton Holiday Inn Handicap. The son of Cotai Glory has won two of his last four starts over the course and distance, and was also a decent third here earlier in the month, beaten two and a half lengths, despite being short of room. The six-year-old has to overcome a wide draw but a reproduction of his recent form should be good enough to prevail today for trainer Michael Attwater.
