Emmys’ Nate Bargatze Officially Subtracts From Donation to Boys and Girls Club After Long Speech

Noah Wyle is scrubbing into the winner’s circle.

Three decades after the 54-year-old received his first of five supporting actor Emmy nominations for his work on ER as John Carter alongside George Clooney, he won the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for playing Dr. Michael Robinavitch on The Pitt. (See all the winners here.)

“What a dream this has been,” Noah said during his acceptance speech at the Sept. 14 event. “Thank you to everybody at HBO Max and to Warner Brothers Television for allowing the conditions to exist for lightning to strike in my life twice. John Wells, thank you for being that lightning.”

In addition to recognizing the executive producer, the Donnie Darko actor—who bested fellow nominees Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Pedro Pascal and Adam Scott—also shouted out his “creative partner in this endeavor,” show creator R. Scott Gemmill, saying they’re in it “until the wheels come off, brother.”

“And to all the amazing artists who meet us every morning on stage,” Noah said. “You bring your A-game every day, which inspires me to bring mine. And to my children, to my parents, to my step-parents, and to my beautiful wife, Sarah, who owns half of this, not just because it’s California law, [but] because she earned it.”
