Newsboy fancies his nap, Flowstate, to win at Pontefract and also hopes Sneaky Blinder can score at Wolverhampton and complete his Daily Double
FLOWSTATE is fancied to get back to winning ways by beating 11 opponents for the Constant Security Services Handicap (2.33) at Pontefract on Monday afternoon. Having made a winning debut with an 18-1 score at Ripon in June of last year, the David O’Meara-trained son of Bungle Inthejungle, wearing a visor for the second time, doubled his career tally with a half-length call in a six-furlong handicap at Catterick Bridge in August.
Flowstate didn’t match that form at Hamilton Park and back at Catterick on his next two outings but there was nothing wrong with his one-length second to Mattice at Ripon nine days ago, form that was given a boost when the winner followed up at Newcastle on Thursday. Although he operates on fast ground, Danny Tudhope’s mount is particularly effective with cut in the ground, so recent rainfall in West Yorkshire will aid his cause on Monday.
After a last-time-out course-and-distance triumph, SNEAKY BLINDER should go well in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap (8.00) at Wolverhampton. Robert Stephens’ son of Magna Grecia cashed in on a falling mark to beat Inlet by two and a half lengths but a 4lb rise for that success isn’t punitive and the presence in the saddle of Billy Loughnane, who has few peers round Dunstall Park, is another plus.
