Diane Keaton spent her final months out of the public eye.
The Annie Hall actress has died in California, a family spokesperson confirmed to People Oct. 11. She was 79.
However, she hadn’t been seen publicly in nearly a year before her passing. In fact, her last public appearances were holiday shopping last Christmas and stepping out for errands in August 2024.
At the time, Keaton was dressed in her signature bowl hat and glasses, completing her casual look with boxy grey trousers, a black turtleneck and a dark blazer.
She appeared to be in good spirits, smiling and waving at onlookers while shopping in Los Angeles.
But even that was a rare sighting of the Oscar winner. Prior to her day out in L.A., Keaton was seen the year before at the 2023 U.S. Open Tennis Championships, cheering in the stands during the final game between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka in New York City.
