Boxer wins bloody fight with ruthless knockout while playing chess with coach

As some people say boxing is like a game of chess, one bare knuckle fighter took the saying to the next level by literally playing the board game during his recent victory

A Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BFKC) star knocked out his opponent in a bloody fight while also playing chess with his coach. At BKFC Hammond, Bryce Henry was pitted against Roderick Stewart in the circular ring.

However, Stewart was not his only opponent of the evening. Every time he went back to his coach, a chessboard with an active game on there was brought out for Roderick to make his move.

It proved to have the desired effect, as Stewart could not believe his opponent’s audacity and disrespect. His anger resulted in him falling into Henry’s strange but well laid trap – not long after, it was check mate for the Texan.

In the second stanza, Stewart, who has two victories and three defeats in his career, moved forward with some heavy swings, in a bid to secure a knockout. However, Henry evaded his wild lashes and planted a perfect, bare-fisted right hand on Stewart’s chin, which dropped him to the canvas.

After he scrambled back to his feet, he staggered forward and took a massive punch to the body, which proved to be the final punch of the bout. At the end, Henry’s hand was raised in victory as the announcer labelled him ‘Bryce the Chessmaster Henry.’

Only Henry and his coach know as to whether the fighter also won their chess battle. Either way, he was evidently thinking one step ahead of the Texan in his clash.

After the match, Henry called out BKFC welterweight champion Julian ‘Let Me Bang’ Lane and challenged him to a championship bout – in bare knuckle boxing, not chess.

He shouted: “That’s my f***ing belt. I have got two things to do: take my belt and get a follow from Conor McGregor and then I did it in life.”

While he did taunt Stewart by playing chess during the rounds, he still had an awful lot of respect from his opponent. Henry, whose record is currently 6-0, said: “I knew this guy was a tough motherf***** and I knew he would get back up.

“So I had to chop him down like a tree, and that’s how we did it. I want to thank the fans, the new fans, my family, everyone who is out there. I love you all, let’s keep this going.”

Before he stepped into BKFC’s unique circle ring, he was a member of the squared circle in traditional boxing. Not long ago he knocked out boxing prospect Jamar Pemberton.

After his first few fights in bare knuckle boxing, he told BoxingScene: “I came into bare-knuckle and showed them something different. They call me the Floyd [Mayweather] of bare-knuckle. I think I changed the game. I showed how to hit and not get hit.”
