The YouTuber-turned-boxer has hit back at Tommy Fury after the Brit’s team revealed they would only accept the rematch if the price is right
Jake Paul has hit back at John Fury after Tommy Fury‘s father laid out fresh demands to the YouTuber-turned-boxer regarding a potential rematch.
Fury handed Paul his first professional loss back in 2023 after scoring a razor-thin split decision victory in Saudi Arabia. Despite seemingly settling the score two years ago, the bitter rivals have traded verbal jabs ever since – teasing a potential rematch.
During a recent interview with iFL TV, Fury Sr admits they will accept a second fight with Paul – providing the price is right. “Well, we are trying to do what we can. We are looking at the Jake Paul rematch,” he said. “We are trying to dot a few I’s and cross a few T’s. I have given them a number, let’s see if they can meet it. If they don’t meet the number… f*** off.”
The 60-year-old’s comment quickly went viral online, and it did not take long for Paul to share his response. In a post uploaded to X – formerly known as Twitter – he wrote: “You blundering fool. Just say Tommy is scared. No one is giving Tommy $15 million. So you F off.”
‘TNT’ has been rather inactive over the last few years. Fury returned to the ring back in May – defeating Kenan Hanjalic on points. The win marked the Brit’s first appearance in the squared circle since defeating KSI two years ago. As for Paul, the ‘Problem Child’ has been active since losing to Fury.
The 28-year-old has defeated Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland and Mike Perry before his decision win over heavyweight veteran Mike Tyson last November. Paul returned to the ring back in June, defeating former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The American is expected to return next month against Gervonta Davis in an exhibition showdown.
Providing he comes away unscathed, Paul may be eager to face Fury for a second time next year. Back in April, the Brit was accused of turning down “multiple offers” to go head-to-head with rival Paul for a second time. In an interview with The Sun, Paul’s promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian said: “Tommy was offered an unbelievable deal to headline versus Jake on Netflix and they had a false sense of expectations. Jake’s not gonna ever offer him that kind of money again. Now if Tommy Fury showed up and said, ‘Jake, here is $20million to fight me and I’m gonna make $20million.’ Right, all the power to you.

“But they’ve never made an offer once. And we’ve made multiple offers to try to make that rematch happen. And if you’re very confident that you’re gonna be Jake Paul, you should have jumped at the opportunity to fight him for $6million plus upside on Netflix. It’s just beyond ridiculous that they didn’t.”
However, just months later, Fury explained why he was not ready to fight the American just yet. In a recently released BBC iPlayer documentary series “Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury”, the 26-year-old boxer revealed he wanted at least two or three more warm-up fights.
His father John received a call from family lawyer Robert, who asked whether Tommy would be ready for a rematch on June 28. “Listen, that is the oldest trick isn’t it?” Fury Snr retorted. “Tommy has not boxed in 18 months.” The camera then cut to a solo interview with Fury Sr – who said: “My job as a father is to get the right opponent. Get him in the ring. Get some rounds under our belt. Get the hand tested and see where we go from there.” The clip then switched back to the family gathered around the campfire, with Fury Snr still engaged in a phone call. He continued to tell his lawyer: “I think the answer on that one is going to be no, Robert. We want to be ready and we just want to beat these guys.”
When is the next boxing fight?
Joshua Buatsi and Zach Parker will clash on Saturday, November 1 in Manchester. The undercard is anticipated to commence at approximately 6pm UK time (1pm ET / 10am PT / 12pm CT). For the headline encounter, Parker will probably make his ring walk first at 10pm BST (5pm ET / 2pm PT / 4pm CT) with Buatsi expected to follow straight afterwards.
The entire spectacle will be broadcast live on DAZN. This popular streaming service can be accessed as an additional subscription on television sets. It’s also available for live streaming via the official website or through the downloadable application. A DAZN membership costs £119.99 annually or £14.99 monthly, alternatively £24.99 on a flexible arrangement that permits cancellation at any time.
