Gerwyn Price has shown off his new physique with some pictures on social media having hit the gym hard – which has caused concern among some onlookers in the sport
Gerwyn Price has showcased his impressive physique with a topless snap on social media, where he claimed he “looks better than ever”.
The Welshman has lost a huge amount of weight amid some notable success at the oche. This year he has claimed victory in the Poland Masters and made the final of the Bahrain Masters, but it his success with his body that is one of his most impressive exploits.
Price has been hitting the gym hard and his massive weight shred has even seen some of his opponents raise concerns about his figure. The Welshman used to buff out his tops but one pundit claimed he “thought it was a kid in his shirt” when he saw him.
The former world champion has laughed off concerns about his physical appearance. Alongside his ripped pictures he said: “Concerned about my weight loss? Well don’t be, I feel and look better than ever.”
Pundit Damian Vlottes admitted he was taken aback after watching Price at the European Championship last week. He said: “I thought it was a kid in his shirt. There’s nothing left of him. You can’t really comment when someone’s overweight, so let’s be respectful when someone’s underweight too – but he’s lost a huge amount.

“He used to have a lot of muscle – he was massive. Now he looks like a kid! Pretty soon he’ll be getting beaten up by Bradley Brooks. He used to be so broad, always in the gym. But he’s gone too far now. He really should put some weight back on – this isn’t good.
“It’s not that I’m worried about him – for all I care, he can lose even more – but it’s meant as friendly advice. I’d tell him to eat a bit more. He owns a fish and chip shop, so that shouldn’t be a problem!”
Throughout his darts career Price has been an imposing figure for rivals, owing in part to a physique that harks back to his rugby days. The Welshman gave up playing rugby back in 2014 to concentrate on a darts career that was beginning to blossom.
Price previously played as a hooker for Welsh Premier Division sides Neath and Cross Keys. Back in the day he also had a short spell at URC side Glasgow Warriors as injury cover for their first choice players
He also competed in rugby league with South Wales Scorpions and Blackwood Bulldogs – and was capped by amateur international rugby league side Wales Dragonhearts.
England’s Rugby World Cup winner from 2003, Phil Vickery, commented on Price’s social media post saying: “Commitment and consistency brother, awesome”.
