Chris Eubank Jr beat Conor Benn in April and opted to go through with the rematch despite seemingly having settled the 34-year family feud
Chris Eubank Jr should have retired on a high after beating bitter rival Conor Benn.
That’s the view of former world champion George Groves ahead of the rematch between the sons of legends. Eubank Jr appeared to have settled his long-running feud – and the family rivalry – with Benn when he had his hand raised in April.
But a sequel was announced immediately and the pair will lock horns again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night. And Groves, who beat Eubank Jr in 2018, is disappointed to see his former opponent continue his career.

The Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn rematch is set for Saturday, November 15, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Fans can order the fight on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or watch it free with a DAZN Ultimate plan.
“He should have retired and gone out in a blaze of glory, just like I wanted to do,” he said. “Eubank Jr has beaten his nemesis, he’s not going to do better than that. He’s at the very end of his career and he had a torturous time before the fight even started.
“He had issues with his training team, he had family issues and he picked a war with everyone who wasn’t on his side. Then he failed to make the weight and was fined. “He was supposed to blow Conor Benn away but he didn’t; he had to bite down on his gumshield to win.
“I wanted him to do something incredible and walk away from boxing. We knew there was more money on the table but he could have gone away and done anything. “But he is a prizefighter and maybe he still has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove he is a fighter through and through. There’s only money in it for him now, and I think he’s going to get beat.
“A lot depends on who settles into the fight first. They are going to come together after five rounds or so and I think Benn will be fresher and have more desire to win. He might even stop Eubank Jr late.”
