Luke Littler has demanded Manchester United sign Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo and joked he’s ‘done his job’ after the player followed him on social media
Darts sensation Luke Littler has urged Manchester United to snap up Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo. After the forward followed the Nuke on social media, the teenage sensation joked it’s now up to Old Trafford’s recruitment team to seal the deal.
The Nuke has called on United to activate the 25-year-old’s release clause, believed to be around £65 million, this January. The suggestion comes as boss Ruben Amorim faces a selection crisis, with both Amad (Ivory Coast) and Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon) preparing to link up with their nations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month.
Morocco’s Noussair Mazraoui will also be required for tournament duty, with regulations requiring clubs to release players a fortnight before their opening fixtures. That means the trio could depart around the time of their Molineux clash against Wolves on December 8, though reports indicate the club are attempting to postpone their departures.

Littler took to Instagram with a string of stories about potentially losing Amad and Mbeumo. The 18-year-old shared a clip headlined ‘The solution to our AFCON worries?’, featuring footage of the United duo celebrating before cutting to highlights of Semenyo’s strikes.
The darts ace wrote: “Activate the release clause [wink emoji] gonna miss Amad and Mbeumo massively.”
He shared a screenshot of his notifications on social media, showing that Semenyo appeared to have followed him. He captioned the post: “Step one [tick emoji] I’ve done my job, now it’s down to you Reds [wink and laughing emoji].”
Rumours are swirling that Semenyo – who is also on Liverpool’s radar – is being eyed as a potential transfer target for United. The Athletic has reported that Bournemouth have ‘reluctantly accepted’ they may need to sell the 25-year-old in the upcoming January transfer window.
Semenyo, who committed to the Cherries until 2030 in the summer, reportedly has a £65m release clause in his contract, but there is a time limit to allow Bournemouth to secure a suitable replacement.
With the January transfer window just around the corner, Littler’s demands come amid fears of losing key players from Amorim’s squad until mid-January.
As things stand, those called up for AFCON action could miss matches against Newcastle United (26th December) and Wolves (30th December), and potentially earlier games against Bournemouth and Aston Villa on 15th and 21st December respectively.
Depending on how far Ivory Coast and Cameroon progress, they could also be absent for matches against Leeds, Burnley, the FA Cup third round and the Manchester derby against City on 17th December.
Amorim confirmed earlier this month that talks would be held with the relevant football federations.
He stated: “We have the rules for when we have to release the players [but] we are trying to have the players a bit longer.
“It is not just in our hands. We will see. We will try to arrange something with the federations.”
