Everything you need to know about the players expected to miss Manchester United vs Wolves in the Premier League through injury, suspension and international commitments…

Manchester United injuries

  • Bruno Fernandes (hamstring): Limped off in the defeat to Aston Villa before Christmas. Eager to return to training but Ruben Amorim expects him to be sidelined for a couple of weeks.
  • Mason Mount (muscle tightness): A doubt for the visit of Wolves after he limped off with a muscle tightness against Newcastle. United felt they could not take any risks and Amorim is unsure whether he’ll be ready for Tuesday’s game.
  • Kobbie Mainoo (calf): Missed the last couple of games with a minor injury. He is expected to return to training this week so could be available again for Leeds, but will likely miss Wolves.
  • Harry Maguire (thigh) : He’s been sidelined for several weeks and is understood to be closing in on a return. However, Amorim confirmed he does not expect to have the defender available again in time for Wolves.
  • Matthijs de Ligt (back): Like Maguire, he has been absent for a number of weeks due to injury. He isn’t too far away from making a return, but Wolves is expected to come too soon for the Dutchman.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (AFCON): He is currently away with Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations. They are currently second in their group but have work to do if they’re to progress into knockout rounds.
  • Amad Diallo (AFCON): Also away at the Africa Cup of Nations representing Ivory Coast. They are top of the group on goal difference and also have work to do in order to qualify for the latter stages of the competition.
  • Noussair Mazraoui (AFCON): Representing the host nation at the Africa Cup of Nations. They have already qualified from the group stage.

Wolves injuries and suspension

  • Andre (suspension): Picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Liverpool last week. He will now serve a one-game suspension.
  • Emmanuel Agbadou (AFCON): He is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast. Qualification for the knockout rounds is not yet guaranteed with one group game left to play.
  • Rodrigo Gomes (groin): Underwent surgery on a groin injury last month. Two or three month recovery time means a likely February return.
  • Toti Gomes (hamstring) : Suffered a hamstring injury prior to the visit to Liverpool last week. Expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
  • Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (illness): Has been out with illness since mid-December. Kept away from the team to prevent it spreading and isn’t expected to return until the new year.
  • Marshall Munetsi (calf): Suffered the injury in the defeat to Nottingham Forest at the start of the month. Is expected to be out until mid-January.
  • Leon Chiwome (ACL): The youngster sustained an ACL injury at the start of this year. No return date has been placed on the teenager.
